Biography
The Segovian soprano Aida Gimeno García debuted this past season at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona within the El Primer Palau cycle-competition, obtaining the 2nd second prize and the Juventudes Musicales de Cataluña award for the best performance by a Catalan composer. She will also star in the central production of the Vigo Opera season in October 2022, playing the role of Alice Ford in Falstaff alongside artists such as Luis Cansino, Leonor Bonilla, Anna Gomà and José Antonio López.
She recently played the role of Rosario in La Chulapona at the Juan Bravo Theater in Segovia, with great reception from the public. She is also invited to collaborate with the Extremadura Youth Orchestra, performing the role of Trujamán from El retablo de Maese Pedro at the Segovia Music Festival in the Teatro Real production with the company Títeres etcetera. In the summer of this same year she also appeared in front of the French public at the Périgord Noir Festival, playing the role of Euterpe in Gluck's Il parnaso confuso, under the direction of Iñaki Encina.
